Tough conditions, tough weather, and lower energy today. Upon arriving at the hill, we were socked in and it was snowing. New snow had accumulated overnight making for a tough surface as well. We did what we could with what we had and ended up having a great day of training ruts. Skiing well in ruts is an art in itself, and everyone learned something from the conditions. The sun decided to show up partway through the morning, and so for our last few runs we were above the clouds. Challenging days remind us that ski racing is a tough sport and you need to be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws your way.
The lower energy all around led us to decide to take an afternoon off dryland, giving everyone time to catch up on homework, tuning, and napping!
Also, the camera struggled today, so not many pics – sorry!
