We kicked off the first day of the American Downhiller camp with lots of great free-skiing, some fresh snow, and we had a blast! Each group is being led by a coach and a current World Cup racer and a FIS mentor athlete. Each group has a different color buff, and each athlete got a personalized bib! The AD camp was looking good!
The theme for the day was “team” – and coaches shared stories about the importance of sportsmanship and camaraderie in ski racing. We brought it all together with some team-based activities at dryland. Despite the variable weather, fun was had by all.
